The Melrose Community Farmers Market is a brand new market, and takes place every Friday in Heritage Park on Bellamy Ave (SR 26) in Melrose. Seeking to promote local commerce, the market is a "primary producers only" market, where the finest of locally created goods can be found.

The response from the community, both from vendors and customers, has been incredible. With nearly 30 vendors and hundreds of patrons, the market is a busy and active one. It's clear that the people of Melrose want a good farmers' market, and are excited to support this new endeavor.
The products being offered at the market are wide and varied, with a majority of the vendors coming from within a 10 mile radius of the Park. From farm fresh produce to house plants, baked goods or outdoors furniture, metal crafts and jewelry, honey, eggs, fresh catfish or smoked mullet, there is something there for everyone. And since the goods are the product and pride of local merchants, the quality is superior.
The market is also a celebration of the community of Melrose, where friends and neighbors are taking the opportunity to come out and join together. To the backdrop of the melody of local musicians, the crowd ebbs and flows, and the social aspect of this gathering cannot be denied. It seems like the market is becoming 'an event', and everyone is recognizing that every Friday, Market Day, is a special day.
