Situated midway between the Alantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico at the junction of four counties (Alachua, Bradford, Clay, and Putnam), this unique area in North Central Florida with its many beautiful lakes has been attracting visitors and residents since the 1870's. Melrose is a small, charming, unincorporated community of approximately 3500 residents and a burgeoning art community. Please, come explore our community and learn more about this special corner of "Old Florida" and its friendly and diverse citizens.
Find your entertainment options for the coming weeks among live music concerts, informal dances, and art shows, to farmers' markets, yoga classes, and much more.
The Melrose Business and Community Association is the closest thing to government in unincoorporated Melrose. Because the community spans four counties, it takes special effort.
